A rare find, this large vintage bed by Renato Zevi has a powerful, clean sculpted form that fits well with the 1960s ‘Space Age’ design aesthetic.
This retro-futuristic design style was inspired by the advent of space exploration in the late 1950s and 1960s. The designers exploited the public’s fascination with cosmos by incorporating futuristic motifs into their product designs. It was an age of exceptional innovation and experimentation.
There is small damage to the leather on the headboard and some wear to the frame consistent with age. The bed is sold with a metal mattress frame and supporting steel wires.
