Designed by Miguel Mila in 1961, the Santa & Cole TMM Floor Lamp is an example of industrial engineering and a Spanish design classic. The winner of Spain’s ADI-FAD Critics Award in 1962, TMM lamp is highlighted by an adjustable parchment drum shade. The lampshade can be moved up and down and around.

Additionally, power cord functions as a non-conventional on/off switch.

Description

TMM lamp is undeniably the most celebrated piece by one of Spain’s leading pioneering masters of industrial design. Miguel Milá managed to brilliantly combine the three vital components of any lamp: the structure, the electrical components and the shade, in a beautiful demonstration of style and functional efficiency. A true manifesto of Barcelona’s industrial design scene.

A cross-shaped base supports a square wooden shaft that becomes a circle at mid-height. The shade can be moved up or down it, held at the required height by a simple rubber ring. The design of the cable hanging direct from the fitting serves as the on/off switch with a gentle tug of the cord.
