Description
The Little Tulip stool is a powerful, protective and yet elegant modern design stool. It has a clean, simple ergonomic form sculpted to fit the body, and is one of the most comfortable chairs ever made! Designed in 1965, it is one of the essential classics in the history of modern furniture.
Pierre Paulin named it the Tulip stool after the shape of the Tulip flower. The Tulip spreads its simple, half-open petals around the sitter and its curves are extremely inviting, organic and soft.
The curved arms are held by the chrome back and tubing that supports them and that enables the stool to swivel. Elegant with its low back, this chair will look great in any kitchen, bar or dining room as its vibrant colouring makes it incredibly eye-catching.
Pierre Paulin was a French furniture and interior designer renowned for making chairs using foams and metallic frames with stretch materials. His quirky designs have influenced famous designers such as Olivier Mourgue whose designs were featured in Stanley Kubrick’s classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
